Cardano Governance Testnet Signals Major Leap in Development
The Cardano network is taking a significant step towards decentralized governance with the launch of SanchoNet, a governance testnet. Charles Hoskinson, founder of the Cardano blockchain, recently announced the launch of a website for SanchoNet, a testnet related to planned governance capabilities. This move by Cardano could signal a leap forward, and the Cardano Governance Testnet Website Release Signals Major Leap in Development.
Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Cardano, has officially announced a bold step forward for Cardano. This is particularly significant as Cardano introduced Node 10.11, marking a major leap in the network’s journey toward decentralized governance. SanchoNet represents the testing environment for Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) 1694, which outlines technical specifications for on-chain governance on the Cardano network.
Cardano network saw substantial growth in its ecosystem during Q2 2025. This indicates the growing adoption of Cardano’s smart contract capabilities, which allow developers to build dApps on the network. Further enhancing capabilities, Intersect MBO, a Cardano-led Plutus V3 enhances Cardano's DeFi capabilities, supports complex applications, and integrates advanced cryptographic and governance features, reinforcing its commitment to innovation.
As part of the Leios Research agenda, the network will soon deploy a testnet. The testnet will also be open for DApps to deploy and begin exploring how AI might power next-generation DeFi services. This all points towards a major advancement for Cardano and its ecosystem.
