Do Kwon Unveils Revival Plan 2: Is Terra More Than UST?
Do Kwon, the founder of Terraform Labs, has introduced 'Terra ecosystem Revival Plan 2' in an effort to salvage the Terra ecosystem following the dramatic de-pegging of UST. Kwon's plan focuses on the future of LUNA and the Terra blockchain itself, moving beyond the shadow of the failed stablecoin.
A key element of Kwon's strategy is to emphasize the resilience and value of the Terra developer ecosystem. Kwon emphasized that maintaining the Terra developer ecosystem is the most important thing and tweeted that “Terra is more than UST”. He believes that the community and underlying technology are worth preserving, even without the anchor of UST.
Terra v2: A Fork in the Road
According to his plan, 5% new supply of LUNA will fuel the revival. Do Kwon clarified that the new blockchain will not be linked to the TerraUSD (UST) stablecoin, saying, Terra is more than $UST. “The Terra ecosystem and its community are worth preserving,” Kwon wrote, adding that “Terra is more than $UST.” The new plan means that Terra will be forked, essentially creating a new blockchain.
Luna Foundation Guard released the breakdown of their remaining reserves and Do Kwon shared his updated proposal for Terra v2. This revised proposal addresses concerns raised by the community and aims to provide a clearer path forward.
Abandoning UST?
Do Kwon, the founder of Terraform Labs, officially proposed a revival plan for the Terra ecosystem involving a hard fork and abandoning UST, Terra’s depegged stablecoin. This indicates a strategic shift away from reliance on algorithmic stablecoins and a focus on building a sustainable future for LUNA independently.
While El cofundador de Terraform Labs, Do Kwon, ha presentado una propuesta para preservar el ecosistema de Terra tras la histórica desvinculación de su stablecoin, the broader community is still evaluating the long-term viability of Plan 2 and the future of LUNA.
