Visa's Crypto Payments Skyrocket: $2.5 Billion in Fiscal Q1 2025
Payments giant Visa has been quite vocal about its interest in the crypto-verse. Seems like being an active participant in this burgeoning market is paying off handsomely. The Visa, the popular global payment network company, said during an earnings call that its customers made $2.5 billion (roughly Rs. 18,685 crore) in payments using its crypto-linked cards during the first fiscal quarter of 2025. Visa CEO Al Kelly said on the Visa users made $2.5 billion in payments with crypto-connected cards during the company’s fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31. The company reported net income of $4bn and Visa saw net revenue of $7.1bn for its first fiscal quarter of 2025, an increase of 24pc on the previous year.
Visa said during its recent earnings call that customers made $2.5 billion in payments with its crypto-linked cards in its fiscal first quarter of 2025. That was 70% of the payment volume in the quarter accounted for 70% of Visa’s total crypto volumes for the entire fiscal year. This massive growth highlights the increasing adoption of cryptocurrencies and the vital role Visa plays in bridging the gap between traditional finance and the digital asset world.
