In an email sent out to the Bitcoin developer mailing list Wednesday, the former Twitter CEO detailed his plans for a “Bitcoin Legal Defense Fund.” In order to combat this, the Bitcoin Legal Defense Fund would reportedly act as a non-profit that “minimizes legal headaches discourage software developers from actively working on Bitcoin.”
The Bitcoin Legal Defense Fund, a non-profit organization co-founded by Jack Dorsey, Alex Morcos and Martin White, is backing 13 Bitcoin Core developers. The Fund is intended to provide legal counsel and resources to developers facing legal challenges related to their contributions to the Bitcoin project.
