Malaysia Announces Plans to Build a National Public Blockchain: MBI Launched
Malaysia has officially activated its National Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), a government-backed initiative aimed at accelerating the adoption and development of blockchain technology across the nation. This marks a significant step towards Supporting Malaysia’s Role in ASEAN’s Digital Future.
To accelerate the development and use of blockchain in Malaysia, a new government-backed national operation and roadmap have been launched: the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI). MIMOS Berhad, in partnership with MyEG, officially unveiled the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), a key component of the country’s national blockchain strategy.
MY E.G. Services Berhad (MYEG) and Mimos Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd (MTSSB) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Thursday to co-develop this groundbreaking infrastructure.
Built on Zetrix’s robust public layer-1 blockchain, the MBI enables cross-chain compatibility with platforms such as Ethereum, Solana, and enterprise networks. Thus, MIMOS Berhad and digital services provider MyEG have launched the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI) to boost digital services and support the National agenda, propelling Malaysia into a new era of digital innovation.
